Tough Mudder
In mid-August Mr. Wilder headed to the backwoods of Hirzenhain around Giessen, Germany, to help out at the local Tough Mudder event. The finisher of the previous year stated in an interview before the event that "it will be a great thing to cheer on other runners, especially after I finished the challenging obstacle run in 2013 and was always happy about motivation and inspiration, overall spiritual support throughout the entire course." With other volunteers, including medical personnnel, Dan was pumping up the crowd at the Spiderman obstacle; no surprise, the universal artist ended up covered in mud after the many hugs random female runners gave him that passed the obstacle. Dan was also seen doing push-ups with some runners that considered the obstacle itself not challenging enough. After the run was over and the work done Dan returned in awe and with a smile. He said that "it meant a lot to help out there, because it is not just great to support others but further to be part of this relentless community that comes from all parts of the world to take on this challenge and experience something as a team, as a group." Later that month Dan dedicated a blog post to his volunteer experience; find the post in the blog section, titled as the blog series itself: Momentum to Go!
