The Power of the Pen
Harmony: or the Lies of Our Fathers
A freedom manifest, wry and frolic, resolute
Soul bided and blind folded by a luminous delight.
My brethren guided me to yet a life beyond dispute
Illuminated path, shingly, darkened by the bright.
Illuminate thy worldly quest thou burned with mettle on my chest,
Disclose thou yet demonic deeds upon my dazzled soul, unrest;
The royal secret found I yet beneath to understand;
His wrath let burn, heavenly fire burn upon the shame of men.
Devout heathens have defiled my blood of innocence,
Leviathan, an eagle, crest decree of providence.
Harmony our judge, lawgiver, harmony our king,
Lines of desolation, chaos, bleeding from within.
Pillars turned to ashes, yet the ashes still aflame,
Bound to hell, a spiritual bond yet so profane
To unify the lies that once our fathers settled deep
Sons in coma, you gave us a moral to believe.
God-given, god-forsaken, obliterated lines,
The eagle and the scroll, merely two forgotten signs,
I quail amongst thou heathens to release me from your lies
And if it’s only to proclaim my personal demise!
The upright awaits gladness in new splendor by the king,
The wicked, out of harmony, receive not a damn thing!
