Becoming a Badger
After his Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and Economics Mr. Wilder had been called to study abroad in terms of his graduate program. In late August 2013 he packed his bags and boarded the plane to the beautiful city of Madison, where Dan is currently studying Creative Writing at the University of Wisconsin. He said recently in an interview that “this is not only a great opportunity to advance my artistic skills and eventually my expertise in writing lyrics but further a privilege, a great honor, and not least a dream come true. It is a damn good university and I thank God for the opportunity to make it to a university like the UW-Madison and be part of one of the most renowned Creative Writing programs in the world.” Besides his courses Dan befriended scholar, radio host, and playwright Ayasha Tripp and is said to be composing the original score for her upcoming play in fall 2014. Up to this day Dan had 5 guest appearances at the Velvet Rope Radio Hour of WSUM 91.7 hosted by Ms. Tripp. Dan further lead and coordinated a music project in one of his courses and was seen at the UW Winter Concert to watch and support good friend Anna Volodarskaya, conductor of the Women’s Chorus.
Mr. Wilder has finally established himself in the art scene, where he is known and admired as the universal artist he is. He had also been seen hanging out with bands like Look, I’m Burning and lead singer and guitarist Brad Giroux of the Rock band Maffa Rico. Further people had spotted him in a renowned Jazz club in New Orleans, where he was, according to the sources, talking about his writing projects while sipping on some bourbon and smoking a cigar. About his time in the United States Dan merely said that it was an amazing time he is having there, since he can take his artistic skills to the next level as well as create options and opportunities for the future.
